Some people’s ideal is pure green cultivation without pesticides at all. It is okay to try it on their own balcony or yard, but it is impossible to achieve commercial cultivation.

Pesticides applied to fruits and vegetables will inevitably leave some residues. However, there is no need to worry too much. The pesticides allowed by the state to be used on vegetables and fruits are basically low-toxicity pesticides, and the “National Food Safety Standard Maximum Pesticide Residue Limits in Food” (GB2763) stipulates the limit requirements for various pesticides in food.

How to reduce pesticide residues on vegetables and fruits?

1. Leave it for a few days

Plants themselves have a certain ability to metabolize pesticides, which is why the “safety interval for pesticides” is stipulated. “Pesticide safety interval” refers to the time interval between the last application of pesticides and harvest.

Therefore, you can store shelf-stable fruits and vegetables for a few days before eating them, such as potatoes, cucumbers, Chinese cabbage, etc.

2. Remove the peel and peel off the leaves

Pesticide residues on vegetables and fruits are mainly concentrated on the surface. Therefore, apples, peaches, pears, grapes and other fruits can be peeled to reduce pesticide residues in eating parts. Cabbage, cabbage, cabbage and other leafy vegetables can peel off the outer layers of leaves.

3. Soak and clean

How to choose strawberries?

Strawberries with a heart-shaped appearance and weird shapes are not selected.

Relevant studies have shown that during the red ripening stage, the sugar content in strawberries increases, the vitamin C content remains high, the anthocyanin content is also rich, and the phenolics and flavonoids content are also high. Strawberries at this time have a strong aroma, bright color, and high nutritional value, so when purchasing, choose strawberries with bright red color, plump fruits, and no damage.

Strawberries are berries with high water content, thin skin, delicate tissue, soft and juicy. They are easily damaged and rotten by mechanical impact, and are difficult to store and keep fresh for a long time, so it is best to eat them now and buy them now.
