The Regional Union of Health Professions (URPS) independent doctors AURA has just created a participatory laboratory bringing together doctors and researchers. “The objective is part of a public health approach to improve clinical practices in the service of the patient,” indicates the URPS in a press release.

The new laboratory brings together a community of liberal doctors and researchers from the National Institute of Health and Medical Research (INSERM) with the aim of creating tailor-made research, more adapted to the liberal environment, obtaining results specific to realities on the ground, and expanding hospital research using data from community medicine.

Two themes: mental health and the cancer-environment link

In full creation, the participatory laboratory focuses its research around two themes: mental health and the cancer-environment link. Several projects are in the development phase, including around the use of antidepressants, with the Neuroscience Research Center of Lyon and a third on pancreatic cancer with researchers from the Léon-Bérard Center in Lyon. This research is open to all interested general practitioners and psychiatrists.
