One in a million chance: Woman with double uterus got pregnant with two separate babies at the same time

An unusual event in the US state of Alabama… A mother of three children caused surprise by announcing that she had a double uterus from birth and that she was expecting a girl in both uteruses.

USAKelsey Hatcher, 32, of , was born with a rare uterine anomaly called uterine didelphys, or double uterus.
The young woman, who carried a baby in only one womb in her previous pregnancies, will have a child from both wombs this time. It is still unclear whether the babies will be twins.
In an interview with the press, Hatcher stated that she did not know such a possibility was possible until she found out she was pregnant last spring.
Hatcher’s doctor stated that there was a one in a million chance that the young woman could become pregnant with two separate babies in her two wombs at the same time.
Hatcher, who opened a private social media account to share her pregnancy and its process after learning about her situation, also started a donation campaign. (DHA)
