Doctors at numerous university hospitals want to stop working this Tuesday. The Marburger Bund doctors’ union has called for an all-day strike at 23 hospitals. A rally is planned for lunchtime in Hanover.

With the strike, the doctors’ union wants to put pressure on employers in collective bargaining. The three rounds of negotiations so far with the Collective Bargaining Association of German States regarding a tariff increase for the more than 20,000 doctors at university hospitals have so far been unsuccessful.

In the clinics on strike there will be restrictions on non-urgent, postponeable operations. However, emergency care and vital treatments should be guaranteed.
