A surge in seizures
The insecticide, banned in France since 2013, continues to be sold on “market stalls, on e-commerce platforms or by individuals on social networks”, according to a press release customs and the DGCCRF. “Faced with the increase in seizures made on travelers, a prevention message for the attention of users, published by the DGCCRF, is displayed by the customs services, upon the arrival of flights considered to be at risk,” specify the authorities. .
Since the start of 2024, more than 2,000 vials of “Sniper 1000” have been seized by customs services, in freight and in travelers’ luggage at Roissy airport and in a postal customs clearance office. in Wissous (Essonne). “In the event of infestation by bedbugsconsumers are encouraged to favor, as a first priority, mechanical and thermal solutions (vacuuming, washing, hot, cold),” specifies the press release.
