GY stated that his disease is a rare and unknown type and treatment options are limited. He regained his health after the surgery and advised others not to hesitate to go to the doctor and get treatment.

Assoc. Dr. Seda Şahin Aker said that congenital gender development disorders are very rare. She explained that patients usually apply to the hospital because they do not menstruate during adolescence, and the diagnosis is made during this period. She stated that the patients do not have a uterus and have congenital problems with their vaginas.
Explaining that there are different treatment methods for such conditions, Aker said that the patients do not have a uterus and their vaginas are limited. He stated that the surgery they performed at Kayseri City Hospital was more convenient in terms of patient acceptance and had a lower risk of complications.
Aker emphasized that such surgeries can generally be performed with intestinal or other tissue transplants, but these methods carry some risks and surgery with the patients’ own tissues is more advantageous.
